today my mom and brother hit the road, moving my mom from west hollywood, ca to wisconsin. it's her 59th b-day too 
two years later and my mom becomes a midwesterner too. crazy!! it's cool cuz i'm gonna get to see my mom and bro cuz they're driving through chicago to come visit briefly. haven't seen them since jan. and my mom had a hip replacement then so it wasn't really a fun trip. maybe i'll take them on the river architectural tour of the city. it's way cool. AND they have a bar in the cabin! sweet. it's crazy to think that my family has almost all broken away from so cal and moved elsewhere. my mom's side moved to so cal back in the 40's and all lived within the same 4 block radius til i was born in the 70's. my dad's side moved to so cal back in the 60's. my dad, step-mom and their family are stayin there tho...and my bro is staying in west hollywood. who knows tho - he might end up in some random spot in the country. he's a crazy mountain, outdoorsy type. at least i know my dad will never be leaving so i'll have an excuse to visit back home see my friends too miss them soooo much!
what a trip. i will never go back to my childhood home! it's so rad too. never seen anything like it before. was built in the 20's but it's waaay unusual. another family or couple will hopefully enjoy it just as much as we did tho
