finally finished my resum and turned it in. I've been dragging my feet putting it together because I was, well, basically nervous about it, since I've never made a resum before, and I'm trying to completely switch career directions from blue-collar to white-collar. if they hire me in at Comcast, it will pretty much change my social and work life completely. no more working Saturdays. no more working SUNDAYS!! no more 10-14 hour workdays, not knowing when you might be leaving the shop. no more idiot coworkers (well, fewer.), just idiot customers, which, though still aggravating, at least they change from call to call. no more coming home filthy and itchy from grinding Fiberglas all day. no more cheesy polyester work pants. shoes will last longer. my hearing will last longer. my lungs won't fill up with toxins as fast. I might not die before I'm 40. I might actually have an opportunity to get a raise (wages have been frozen for 3 years at MSX), or to advance in the company without someone dieing. all in all, even though I'm sure there are things that will annoy me about working there, should I get hired, I think it will be a much better job than I have now. I look forward to getting an interview. :-)
