Sunday Morning

Sunday morning arrives with a grey brightness reflecting off the snow, my bleary eyes squinting their protest. The stamp on the back of my hand blurred, random tufts of hair on my head and black smears of eyeliner all signs of a good time the night before. My body is rebellious, wanting to simply curl up and go back to sleep but I...

Hope you had a great night. I was in a similar boat, but I was up early taking my daughter to hockey after a night out.

I had a fantastic night. Thankfully! It made up for the exhaustion. I never realized that Sneaky Dee's had dancing, always thought it was live shows. They start off the night with 50s music, then each hour go up a decade. So much fun!

By noon, I actually felt like myself again and was able to do all the necessary odd jobs around the house, then go to my small business group and finally to a Super Bowl Party with the little one. I never thought I'd say this but I actually enjoyed Super Bowl thanks to all the crazy long hair, beards and extensive tattoos.

Only problem now is, I am being punished for my night out with a terrible fever with crazy chills and aching muscles. I had a cool bath in the middle of the night to lower my temperature. And I am up again after only sleeping for an hour because my temperature is way up again. I am going to finish this bottle of water with a chaser of Advil (which I never ever take) and hope that I can stop these cold sweats long enough to fall asleep again. I feel like someone has been punching me over and over all over my body. frown

I have two other toddlers to look after in the morning which is chaos incarnate. I am praying that I get at least *some* sleep in order to survive until nap-time!

Gah. It is hard when the caregiver of everyone is sick. There's no one left to look after you. blush

Snowmageddon.

I am not going to lie. I am totally UNDERwhelmed by it.

Sure - there is enough snow that fell overnight that it reaches to the top of the bottom step. But that isn't crippling for a car. I just saw a squirrel hopping through it!
Sure - it is blowing occasionally but nothing vicious. I can still see to the back of my...

Seriously? He closed down? I am beginning to think that this is just sheer laziness and not the inability to handle snowy conditions. Hmph. Stupid "Snowmageddon." Do you still want to buy the car from them?

On the upside, I have had two plows down my tiny little side street today along with a sidewalk plow. That is the most I have ever seen during a "snow storm". Usually they show up days later after we have dug our own way out. Way to go Rob Ford. I never thought I would say that. Ick. *shudder* I wonder where he is getting all the money to pay for this 'service' since he cut any revenue making ventures... boo hiss. This is now making me talk politics!! Again I say Stupid "Snowmageddon"!!

I am going to go sweep off my front step now. *sigh*
klaudeman:
They seem to be using that term alot these days. We had our "Snowmageddon" a year ago. We are lucky to get no more than 6in when it snows. However, last year we got 3ft in the span of a week. Everything around was closed for days. My work was cancelled for 2 weeks so things were a bit crazy. Not alot of fun. I love the snow but 3ft in a week is alot. Maybe being stuck at home would have been different if there was someone to be stuck with but when you are alone you just go crazy. biggrin

I am excited for this Saturday - not only do I get to spend the evening with a gaggle of my lovely lady friends avec gateau du chocolat and copious amounts of martinis... I am spending the day at the Pin Up Parlour being transformed into a Pin Up girl! How decadent! My birthday keeps on giving and giving.... I will share the pics when...

I have partied so long for my birthday I gained another year! :-)
Had a wonderful time at every event I attended: burlesque, dancing, seeing my friend's various bands play. Dancing with a 6'10" hunk was a funny highlight. Talk about having to become inventive! I thought my ex boyfriend of 6'8" was hard to interact with! Here's to you Colin - wherever you are...

Congrats on your new arrival. And, in my opinion, nothing is too small to make one happy. If that were the case, I would be in trouble. whatever
