How Many Dogs Does It Take to Change A Light Bulb?

1. Golden Retriever:
The sun is shining, the day is young, we've got our whole lives ahead of us, and you're inside worrying about a stupid burned out bulb?

2. Border Collie:
Just one. And then I'll replace any wiring that's not up to code.

3. Dachshund:
You know I can't reach that stupid...

Things to do when you're bored at Wal-Mart

1. Set all the alarm clocks to go off at ten minute intervals throughout the day

2. Put M&M's on layaway.

3. Walk up to an employee and tell him in an official tone, "I think we've got a Code 3 in house wares," and see what happens.

4. Tune all the radios to a polka station;...

Falling
by Anarkiti July 12/2001

Dance in leaps
Cry small tears
Twirl around
Have no fears
Laugh in gusts
Grab my hand
Stir up dust
As we dance to the band
This is love
This is fate
When you feel
It's not too late
To be young
Young at heart
This is love
At the very start
Dance in leaps
Cry small tears
Twirl around...

The Invitation

It doesn't interest me what you do for a living. I want to know what you ache for, and if you dare to dream of meeting your heart's longing.

It doesn't interest me how old you are. I want know if you will risk looking like a fool for love, for your dream, for the adventure of being alive.

It doesn't interest me...

First Glance

Timid glances

Of the future

With you

I glance away

Afraid to hope

Afraid of it all

Being snatched away

I take a deep breath

And smile at you.

A note to myself:

I am glad that someone has brought hope into your heart.
Now, it is up to you to turn that hope from someone else into hope for yourself.
I know that you have been sad lately,
but the only way to truly be happy is to be happy within oneself.
So take all of the wonderful things that they say to...

I am very much enjoying Anas Mitchell, she reminds me of Sufjan Stevens who also has a haunting voice:

Continued Continuously

It flutters stutters past me

Catching grasping toying

Almost flirtatious with a hint of

Coy cruelty

Dancing, prancing, playing

With wild swirls of abandon

It caresses my face, clothes,

That tree and all its thousand leaves

It waves the flag at me with

Careless joy

The birds take flight

Leaping swooping twirling

Along its smooth waves and currents

Enjoying the brief respite randomly...

Dance of Seasons by Anarkiti

With

a puff

of effervescent air

the first tenuous gasp

of Spring arrives.

The subtle nod of Snowdrop

flirts

with the quaver of

cheerful Crocus

as they join

duets and zephyrs of Freesia.

Flounces of Mona Lisa Anemones

and

debutante Tulips

traipse

along tumbles of riotous colour.

The amaretto sun dance of Gerbera

sparkles

in

confetti

glow

of

Vivaldi,

Ravel...

We are both romantic poets and warriors in our own way. smile
All the descriptive words in the poem are types of each variety of flower - i.e. Amaretto Gerbera, Debutante Tulip.
I used to be (still am) a professional container gardener and I worked at a specialty garden store that carried unusual bulbs and plants. I wrote this when I worked there. (It's a bit of showoffishness but I still love it.) confused
