In the interests of continued celebration of my newfound freedom I decided to drink Cuba Libre's. Problem: No Havana club....

No, Bacardi will NOT do, and anyone saying it will is comeing pretty close to being disembowelled with a corkscrew. Why? Cos it tastes like shite and they are a bunch of evil corporate swine.
(Yes, I get political when drunk )

Cuba libre's not withstanding I have decided to dedicate this journal entry to my second choice of drink, the party in a glass that is the Caipirinha!
Doesn't have the same significance, but it keeps up the latin feel, which can never ever be a bad thing.



Jay's ultimate Caipirinha recepie:

Yes, I thought I had it down, but now I've *really* perfected it!

two limes. Chop of the ends and cut into eighths. Juice four streight away. Place the other 12 in a large lowball glass or short tumbler with a tablespoon of *brown* sugar. Muddle with a pestle or the end of a round ended rolling pin if you don't have a muddler, until all the sugar has disolved (nothin worse than sucking up a mouthfull of grit ). Then fill up the glass to the rim with CRUSHED ice (has to be crushed!) and then top up with two (or three) shots of Cachaca. Insert straw and watch how fast they disapear!
