WTF! I wake up at 7:30 because it takes a nurse about 3 hours to feed me, help me pee, dress me, get me in my my wheelchair, straighten my hair, wash my face, brush my teeth, and a whole bunch of other stuff that i'm used to, all in order to make my 10:30 Intro to Logic & Programing class. In case you're reading this and you think i'm complaining about being a quad you're very wrong. I'm complaining because when I got to school at 10:25 there was a sign on the elevator that read "OUT OF ORDER" and that my professor who had been since 8 o'clock this morning didn't bother to call me! I could have slept in god damn it! god knows i need it since my nurse, who is late every fucking night, doesn't come in until midnight because medicaid doesn't want to pay for the obvious help that I need. I can't do it myself you penny stealing republican mother fuckers!

i've had the same problem with elevators at my college. i was born with spina bifida and i use a wheelchair too. i've been going to school on and off for awhile now. that was always the most annoying thing in the world, to get over there and see the OUT OF ORDER sign. i have had some professors nice enough to call and let me know in advance. but i had a class on the second floor of the art building a couple years ago. the elevator was out for over two weeks. they made accomodations, but as a result, i got really behind and had to drop the class.
