Some fun facts about Clexane.

I especially love this part:


Do not use Clexane if you have, or have ever had any of the following medical conditions:

major blood disorders
certain types of stroke
stomach or bowel problems such as ulcers or ulcerative colitis.
bacterial infections in your heart.



What happens if, like me, you're taking Clexane because you have a major blood disorder ?!? Maybe they don't count birth defects as major blood disorders, even though mine happens to be one.

I have to say, I'm getting excited about being allowed to take sharps onto an international flight. Last time I flew I had my fucking tiny arse nail clippers confiscated, maybe this is just like sticking it to the man, because I'm clearly so fucking hardcore.

Well - I had better try and finish this essay before I go to bed, instead of fucking around.

Edited to add: who thinks it will be a bad idea for me to get a second lip piercing on my last day in Greece, considering I'll be on blood thinners and be spending about 24 hours in the air?!?

Bad idea! Take it from the Cardiac Nurse! You may bleed out don't take the risk. Otherwise, wait until you can do it with a physicians care and then go for it. You may have to hold pressure for twenty minutes to an hour due to the vascularity of the lip and the mouth. However, the mouth heals quickly and your age is a good factor in your favor. i do not agree with it being a good idea and then stepping on a plane because you will not be able to get medical treatment if necessary. Okay? Ice won't do it with blood thinners. With a low molecular weight heparin then you have a shorter half life but you will still need immediate care if you bleed out or hemorrhage. Sorry to be a downer love. Wait till you get home then go for it!

You seem to know that you shouldn't do it, so maybe you were asking in the hopes you'd get bad advice saying 'go for it'? biggrin
