Famously, Winston Churchill referred to his depression as “the black dog.” Sitting on his lap, it haunted him.
But what if you're dealing with a wild beast?
What now?
Maybe you’ll lead it to a cage or tie it to a tree. Maybe you’ll walk it along with you, keeping a tight grip on it and continuing to work toward the day you can release it for good.
I'm sorry for my absence here and on the internet as a whole, people. I'm trying to snap the leash on my own black dog collar.

GF and I were just talking about black dogs - how they're strays. Street dogs. They don't have a home, and they don't need a reason to show up: they just do. And when they do, sometimes they're hungry and sometimes they just trot on by giving you a mean side-eye. And it's never a good idea to engage with one unless you have to. Hope you're feeling better.
