yeah, the bars and clubs are packed every night - people go out very late and stay out late - this placekaffibarinn was the hot spot at the time i was there, but you can just stroll around downtown and pop into different places.

oh yeah, this sounds weird but i advise buying some alcohol at the duty free to keep in your hotel room, so you can start drinking BEFORE you go out, since alcohol (and esp. beer) is pricey. food is also semi-expensive, think london prices if that helps. the seafood is great everywhere, and i also have fond memories of a really good hot dog that i got from a stand at the blue lagoon after having spent a couple of hours in the water.

Welcome to the SGCT group. I noticed a response you made to another member's journal that you were going to a TES meeting. I went to TESFest a few weeks ago. How was the meeting? I've thought about going, but I didn't know if I'd really meet women there. Have you ever been to Flux in New Haven or Bound Hartford?

Thanks for the description; that's exactly what I was afraid of and that's why I've been hesitant about attending an event. The Fest was great because it was big and, well, "festive." Those CT events I mentioned are fun but they're more dance parties with a tiny bit of kinkiness on the side. The Playground in Philadelphia once a month is fun, but it's in... Philadelphia. But, I've been to it once and enjoyed it, so if you get a chance to go I'd recommend it.

Having been in tough straights before, it's very possible that the guy just wasn't hungry right then, and didn't want to keep the food until he was, or didn't want it wasted.
There are extremes, but hunger really isn't as pressing an issue in a major metropolitan area as you may think. Simply put, it's not all that hard to find food these days...
Really, just because you have a full stomach doesn't mean that your needs are being even close to met though. There are many other needs that simply can't be met at the corner hot-dog stand.
I take it on a case by case basis, but normally my natural proclivity towards laziness causes me to just give them cash.

i guess for me jdate is different because i AM looking for that serious long term relationship. also, i have problems because most of the people on there arent religious enough for me. so i guess i AM that girl who you think the majority of jdate girls are.

maybe thats the problem - all the men want something casual and all the women want something serious!
