I am DYING to visit Madagascar (see this link) for a month or so. Not sure how I'll get that time, but for like 15 years now (since I read this book "African Madness" ) I've drempt of going there.
I also am (lightly) considering the idea of writing a book about the connection between Madagascar, the Nazis, and the Jews. Short version: Before Nazis mass exterminated Jews, they planned to move all jews to that island. They even had 1 or 2 ships loaded up & starting to transport, but Allied warships blocked them, sending them back to France, then the camps. I think some serious investigation into this could produce a really awesome historical book. But there's seemingly alot of loose info out there about it.. Click here to get the basics...
