You hit part of problem right on the head, I'm friends with TONS of people (women). Not complaining, but it often doesn't help. You can be my "Hitch". 
As for copywriting/copyediting; I don't have any specific experience with it. I've been more of a news reporter/journalist. Could I do it? Probably. But I need to convince someone.
