"He takes me everywhere he goes,
And he goes everywhere.
He likes to try on all my clothes,
But not my underwear."
That made my day. Just think about it - she not only wrote that, but she released the final version of the song with that line still in it, as if she thought, "Yes, that is indeed the best way to express the depth of our love. People hearing this will understand exactly how I feel." Imagining what thought process might have led to putting that line in a cute pop song gives me a sense of inner peace. I think it will be my new mantra.
In other just-noticing-song-lyrics news, in Billy Joel's song "Pressure," he sings,
"All grown up and nowhere to go
Psych 1, Psych 2, what do you know?
All your life is Channel 13,
Sesame Street, what does it mean?"
I thought to myself that Billy Joel has fans all over the world, and - I'm just guessing here - in most places channel 13 isn't PBS, and the people have no idea what he means by that line.
Come to think of it, I have no idea what he means by that line, either.
i don't know what he's getting at, but i am willing to overlook that because i love him so.
how was your weekend?
