I think that misses the point. After all, the pro-life stance is not so much like saying people shouldn't be allowed to cut themselves as saying that doctors should not be allowed to perform amputations. Sure, some people will get amputations more out of convenience than necessity, and that is bad and it should be strongly discouraged. Yes, it is something permanent that cannot be taken back and maybe some people will regret having done it. Still, I think that doctors should at least have the option of performing an operation that has saved so many lives.
