Call me crazy, but I find the fact that a man was arrested and charged with a 3rd degree felony for using a public and unsecured wifi signal much more disturbing than the fact that there was a bombing attack on London today.

I guess the real reason I feel that way is that the bombing itself doesn't represent anything. It has no deep and far reaching meaning. It doesn't represent a shift in the way our society views right or wrong, or set precedence over what is defined as criminal activity and punishable by law. When it really comes down to it, an arrest for something like this is a much more profound event than a bombing attack, and what I find amazing is that our society in general is so blindly willing to remain ignorant about what really impacts them; the slow and constant constriction of liberties and rights, and instead directs all their attention to binary and obvious events of right or wrong.

Why bother securing my WiFi signal? Being the neighborhood hotspot is a good way to meet geeks, and if I don't like them I can always have them arrested!

Reminds me of the time I got thrown in jail for watching television through someone's living room window.

Family Double Dare, best show ever.
