"Fuck Vegan" Is one of the stickers on my sketch pad from high school, back when I was a smart ass carnivore amongst my hordes of vegan sxe friends.

In the process of potting plants and decorating I have stumbled across my boxes and boxes of pictures and assorted things from age 0 - 25. You see.. I'm a bit of a packrat. I save everything.. post cards, notes, little sticker photos, brochures from trips, etc etc. I stood there laughing at old stuff for a good 15 minutes.. all my old girlfriends, ALL OF MY FUCKING CATS! (like 9 or so), me as a hippie kid, a complete dork, a skinny skater with broken wrists, a raver, and all the things in between. I'm reminded when I see all this stuff why I keep it in the first place, why I write, and why I am how I am. You really don't notice how everything you experience in your life shapes your personality and world view drip by drip until you look back and see yourself developing over the years.

I feel an increased sense of joy for life, as I realize that for all the days when I was growing up and wishing things were more stable, my life was actually just getting a lot more interesting. I am a perfectly seasoned vegetable surrounded by a bunch of white rice. Ohhmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
