The wonderful thing about the world we live in is each day we are faced with countless numbers of choices; choices that we are free to make, facing nothing but the repercussions of our own decisions. The problem with that situation is that sometimes the choices that are presented to us don't seem like choices at all, and we begin to feel like we are being slowly backed into a corner with nowhere to run. So, in this situation, it's only a matter of time before your fight or flight instincts kick in, and since you're already in the corner with no alternate escape routes your seemingly only choice left is to fight. Whether that fight be the fight to make a better wage, have a better relationship, settle an issue with a family member, etc, 9 times out of 10 that fight takes place on the battlegrounds of your mind rather than in the courtyard. So instead of leaving your knuckles battered and bloody, you risk your pride, sense of accomplishment, self worth, or whatever the stakes may be. The average person is constantly fighting these battles in their head, day in and day out, over issue after issue, working to strengthen that muscle we like to call the brain...which, like any other muscle needs to be worked out if we ever want it to be big and strong. However, the difference between the muscle in your head and the muscles in your arm is that one has the ability to learn, and approach a problem in new ways, learning from past experiences. Unfortunately, this appears to be a learned trait and not something intrinsic to human nature as some people, instead of adapting to situations in new ways, will attempt to attack issues using the same methodology that they used to fix 3 problems earlier that day. While there is a rudimentary logic behind this, in the "well this approach fixed an old issue, so it might fix a new issue" kind of way, it lacks one of the more advanced features of the human mind that makes us so unique from many other creatures on this planet, which is the ability to reason, use logic, and invent new problem solving skills that apply specifically to the situation at hand. Once we begin to fully utilize our capacity for solving problems in ways that not only benefit us, but the people around us, it's only a matter of time before the fog of daily battles that we confront begins to thin, and eventually disappear. What does this all mean, and how does it apply to anything? It means that the stress that so many of us are faced with each day will also start to fade away, for even if you have huge burdening responsibilities, if you know how to deal with those by listening to your mind and using it in new ways instead of looping your old mental processes over and over again like an axe chopping on wood, that heavy load starts to not feel so heavy anymore.
In other words: THINK, BITCHES!
And oh yea, ps: Go Vegan
