These Humans Beings

I watch in the shadows, these human beings.
Disappear into their sanctuaries,
when shadows grow long.

They lock away the unknown.
Afraid of the darkness.
Hide from their fears..
Pray to their deities
To help protect them.
From who or what? Me?
They are not hiding from me.

No, from themselves
Yet they are afraid of me,
When they are the most monstrous of all.

Why would I want one of this creatures to spend infinity with me?
