Its funny how your eyes begin to see the beauty in things normally overlooked when new happiness enters your life...

Walking through the mission this morning, driving over the bay bridge this afternoon, looking around my neighborhood, I can't help but notice things are different. Its like a veil has been lifted from my eyes, or the smoke has cleared from a room. Simple things like the richness of the red and orange in bricks outside my window...the contrast of buildings and city skyline against blue water...the blind love and dependence in a child holding their mother's hand walking down the street....I could go on and on...

I notice that I've verbally withdrawn a bit as a result of all of these overwhelming feelings, which bums me out. I mean I've never been a very chatty person anyway, and its always been much easier communicate what I'm feeling through writing as opposed to speaking. Nevertheless, I'd like to feel more comfortable expressing myself via the latter.

Change is slow and long...yet life is fast and short.
