Right. The school's started and so far everything seems to go just fine. The people in our course group are really nice and the teachers are very cool and relaxed guys. We even have one girl in our group, the first ever to enter the gunsmithing school here. Oddly enough, she's just 19, blonde, cute as a button and has a wicked sense of humour. Not your average gunsmith type by a long shot.

The only things that are on the minus side so far are:

1) Small apartment with high rent. 25m2 single-room apartment with a fair-sized bathroom and a mini-kitchen-sort-of-thingy. The rent, stupefying 315 Euros a month frown

2) BOREDOM! This is such a small town that there's really nothing to do. A few stores, ONE bar (and not even a nightclub, more of a pub) and that's about it. Luckily I've already made some friends and intend to spend time actively with them to avoid getting cottage fever, or whatever you call it.

A huge bonus is that the school has LOADS of guns of all sorts and we have the possibility take any of them to target range for a bit of practise or just fun. Of course, we have to pay for the cartridges, but there's no other place where you get to shoot with almost any handgun, many rifles and shotguns and even various full-automatic weapons, almost whenever you want. I think I'll be spending a lot of time there in stead of sitting in a pub, getting drunk.

All in all, things seem to run quite smoothly for now, but if you happen to be passing near Ikaalinen, please do come and visit to save me from this boredom.. wink

Ikaalinen! Well, certainly thats far away from mostly anything. I hope youll get to meet your love at least more or less regularly? And Ill be oh-so-grateful to receive any nifty how-to-keep-a-long-distance-relationship-alive tips from you, in case you have any, because I seem to genuinely suck at it. biggrin Especially as The Girl will be taking a long LONG trip through Southern America this coming autumn/winter and I will most likely not hear much from her for months and months...euuugh. Survivors, arent we. wink

Ill be working in TRE all of this autumn though, one premier in November and one in January, so in case wed happen to be in town simultaenously, lets do that cup of good, tea, would be fun! I realized this summer that I dont have any friends to speak of in said city and occasionally it can get very boring and lonesome. Well, I reckon you know all about that at the moment, tho. Strength! smile
