So yeah. What've I been up to? Not a whole lot, really. It's crunch time for me at school and instead of doing anything to help it along, I've mostly just been procrastinating. Sleeping. Looking at porn. Thinking about moving. It doesn't help that work has been superbusy and are being dickheads about scheduling. It's Thursday, right? We don't know who works on Sunday yet. Yeah, you read that right - nobody knows if they have to work on Easter. Now, I'm pretty sure I don't because I'm at my max scheduled hours as it is (and I normally would suck it up and go in, but my grandma's gettin old and I want to see her as much as I can before she kicks the bucket, you know?) so if I am scheduled, I'm just gonna shrug and say, too bad.

Boyfriend's birthday was last Friday. It was entertaining. We mostly played around and went to the bar where another friend was also celebrating his birthday. Did much drinking and smoking (well, it's been almost a week so I don't even remember) and had ourselves a good time. Saturday I was silly and said 'Hey, let's go to the Big D concert even though I have to work all day tomorrow!' It was a damn good decision. We didn't get into the green room like we wanted (we had friends who were playing in the other bands) but Big D and the Kids Table puts on a fabulous live show. There was so much energy, although it was amusing to note that they were probably the oldest guys there. My boyfriend and his friends probably came in second. Then us college age kids. It was mostly a buncha teenagers. In any case, I had a really good time even though I was supertired all the next day.

Other than that, just trying to get through the week. I have a 10-20 minute Spanish presentation on Wednesday (over la invasin de los moros en Espaa, or the invasion of the moors in Spain) next week and a 5 minute Japanese presentation (complete with 1 page paper and indeteriminate-lengthed interview) on Monday. I also am interviewing potential candidates for my sex ed group at school, though we take pretty much anyone unless you're a complete prick or a gay-basher. I'm also working on getting my stuff together to move out - I hopefully will be signing my lease tomorrow, if the apartment I want is still available. I'm really excited about that. Oh, and I think another scholarship application is due here sometime soon. I'm going to study in Japan in the fall and it's really, really fuckin expensive. But it'll be awesome so it's worth it.

It's cool that you are putting together a sex ed group. I'd go if I could find time to drive to Lincoln.

It's a thing through UNL, so you couldn't join anyway. tongue And it's not MINE, per se, I'm just an active member of it. Well, there's only 10 of us, so we all are pretty active. smile But we do cool shit like run a free HIV test site in the health center (I got tested last week there, got my results back today telling me that I'm not infected, yay) and give presentations on stuff like the million different types of contraceptives and the varying STIs. And we sponsor a lot of stuff, like last spring we had HIV+ speakers come in and talk, this last fall we had kids from Camp Kindle, which is a camp for children with HIV or are affected by HIV (so if their mom has it or whatever). Earlier this spring we had some slam poets come in and slam about AIDS. And that's not even counting all the stuff we do for World AIDS Day, African American AIDS Awareness Day, Latino AIDS Awareness Day, Dia de los Muertos, spring break fair, um... and those are just the big ones. smile

I really love it, though. Can ya tell from the way I ramble on? Amusingly enough, one of my planned pieces of ink is a red ribbon on my wrist for AIDS awareness. But I'm going to wait until World AIDS Day this year to do it.
