Hmm, Mardi Gras. To get out there and shake my thang, or to go to yoga and then pass out. Hmm...
Update: I did...NEITHER!
I sat home and watched a movie I've been wanting to watch since I was a kid but never got around to (No one properly appreciates the joy of Ralph Bakshi!!), while getting a little Hot Monkey action (with cranberry -...

Got my ticket to prom, finished unpacking the kitchen and tidying. Next I'm on to the bedroom to try and make that a bit more liveable, and getting my tickets to Montreal. (I waste no time with that whole "goals" thing.
)
I wonder if I'll ever be totally done with this unpacking shit. After this I'll be down to those bitchy boxes of miscellanea....

Not sure what the travel situation will be. Still don't know who's going and by what method. I might rent a big van or something. But I'll let you know when I know more.

I already had 2gb of good ocz memory. I got a 74gb raptor as a new primary hd, an x1800xl video card, athlon 64 X2 3800, and a new 500w modular power supply. I had a dfi nf4 board sitting around the house. I also had a good 120mm heatsink from an old build that was too big.
So nothing too fancy but better than my athlon xp 2800 and 9600xt vid card. Also I can pretty much make a new pc out of my old parts and sell it for 600 bucks.
You should come to our house Friday night if you aren't doing anything, Stan will be playing.

Yeah, alright, here we go...
Seven things to do before I die:
1) Go to Montreal & NY
2) Present for one of the big AV conferences (AntiVirus, that is)
3) Develop the ability to dress for occasions that prohibit jeans without panicking
4) Be able to hit on complete strangers
5) Go back to Hawaii and spend about a week whacked out on Kava...

Okay, I'm out of internet-hibernation now, even if only for a moment!
Thanks so much to all of you who made this weekend so freaking much fun! I feel like a ton of mud has been removed from my head. Yay...
Meeting all you awesome folks and having wonderful adventures reminds me exactly why I'm glad to be where I'm at.
Ooh, ooh, my turn!...

I moved to Portland in July. I am shy sometimes- you all seem like such a tight knit group and I feel uncomfortable meeting a large group of strangers who are all already friends.
I went out to one event, kinda, once. It was to a movie thing at the Clinton st theater. I did post I was going, but then didn't identify myself at the event- I think probably only 2 or 3 people showed up anyway.
I see that you are a friend of yumchen.
Do you know her just from the net, or in "real" life also?

I think it means that I was journal bombing people when I should have been sleeping.

Goin' on a date...to eat Korean food...while my nose is already all runny. Hot.
This has me in friggin' tears.

hippomonki:
maybe you got the infection from blowing goats?
brokenbeatnik:
Yeah I just got over a low-grade one of those myself. I wonder if there's an outbreakmonki lurking around here somewhere

I didn't get snowed in yet, hooray! I came bouncing down the hill from my car last night and had a good giggle - CRUNCHY DIRT.
And yay, had a bit o' whiskey and yet I slept like a log.
To those of you who stayed last night, how was the suspension?

It snowed in Portland?

So, the snow should not be a problem this weekend.
What would it be like if you didn't live your life for the future or because of your past? I don't mean ignoring consequences, but not worrying about what outcome happened last time you did something, or how this would affect you when you're 80? What would you do differently?

I think it's more a combination of both us and others. I used to always give everyone the benefit of the doubt right off (I'm happy to say, I'm getting back to that), and I wore my heart on my sleeve.
Life has made me a bit gunshy. That's a shame, because it's probably the quickest way to end up with regrets.

Hrm. Okay, so Myla says she's not going. See my journal for details.
Well, I was wondering before I checked up on _twitch_, I'd see if you wanted to go together? C'mon. Saturday, we could go. It would be fun and I'd pay for half the gas.

I change the CDs in the car every time, leave some emergency cassettes in there; never know when the portable CD player will die (and I don't mean "run out of batteries" as I keep spares; I mean DIE die). Believe me, I know.
