Oh man. I went to the Dunny party last night, and completely geeked. Apparenty I can negotiate, as long as the person is 20 years my junior. wink
I ended up with all but one of the ones I reeeally wanted, including one entirely unexpected and wonderful extra.

Funny you should have a journal up about this. tongue

I was at Compound yesterday, and while I hadnt let myself get sucked into the whole Dunny craze prior, I bought one, and introduced my girlfriend to them. She bought three. Then the bug bit her, and she ordered 12 more from their website that evening. lol. I've told her about this journal entry of yours, and I bet she'll be commenting you soon. wink

I think I may have been bitten a little bit, too. I'll probably end up swinging past compound today, and I'll likely pick up two more Dunnies. surreal

They are sooo cute and sooo evil. Just how I feel about BUNNIES-- and Mr. dovienya. I bought too many.

I don't suppose you'd like to make a trade for an Attaboy Welsh Rarebit or a Crash Test Dunny?

The other day I was at this party, and the house it was held at was her parents' house. The mom is this crazy-insane awesome gardener, who has had her importer's license for over a decade. She has these gorgeous, well-established plants growing there that are only recently available here. Her gardens have been pictured in some of my favorite garden-geek media, so I kept...

Ya know what sucks about the heat? Oh, aside from the heat. The weather's fucking up my nose. Fuck this heat! Sideways, with a pitchfork!!

Ya know what sucks about trying to become a vegan for health reasons? It's hot and I'm feeling very tired and lazy. This means I just don't want to eat at all. That's not very healthy.
estrada:
Dietary problems?

What sucks is even after you strip the clothing off it is still frustratingly hot and the soaked clothes that would have been cooling with a breeze are nowhere to be found.

I could go for some beans and rice... mmm...

I want to see A Scanner Darkly. I think I will tomorrow.
cheech:
What sucks about trying to be vegan would be, I assumed, that BBQ meat is amazing.

Highlights of the trip:
* Flat screen m.f-ing TV in the hotel bathroom. Cause that's how I roll. wink
* Making a bathroom full of women say "Wow..."
* Being interviewed for my very first podcast.
* Getting called a "role model" by a female cyber-crime FBI agent (cause holy cow, she's a rockstar role model!)

I took out about 10 more bullet points of going...

I do that all the time. No, wait, that's entirely a lie.

This podcast thing best come out soon, because I want details on this... don't leave us hangin'...

This weekend was all about the consequences of choices about priority. I've had to make some pretty drastic choices lately, and let other things fall by the wayside. Painful decisions with painful consequences, though I think longterm it was the right thing to do.
Looks like now might be time to make some adjustments, as the time for drastic measures has passed.

It's a funny thing about other people questioning your motives... it turns out, it's the ones where it comes from people questioning their own similar motives that sting the most. But knowing that makes it a lot easier to take.

I got a call from a friend the other day, which got cut short, as we're both very busy girls. She started to hint at...

Went to the acupuncturist yesterday to get her help with the insomnia issues. She asked me a bunch of questions as usual. "Hmm, some heat. Are you having disturbing dreams?" Yeah... "How would you say you're doing emotionally?" Overwhelmed.
And so on, and so on. It weirdly feels more like I'm going to a therapist, without having to own up to doing stupid things. wink

But...

Always wondered because I never gone to one and never will.

How does acupuncture feel?
starisea:
Oh I hope that you are feeling better! If so, does that mean that there is the possibility of a stari alyssum conjunction? It's been ages! Have you seen "hyperdrive" yet? It is a tremendously funny sci-fi brit com with Nick Frost. I thinks you would enjoy it muchly.

kiss

PS~ On your "default about you", sol wants to know if that means that you are the kind of person that traps someone in a corner and makes them drink strong liquor? "come on do it. you can't resist my personality!" Teehee!

This weekend was a bit of a mixed bag.
This weekend was one of rest and recuperation and socializing, while the boy was off on a road-trip having a fucking marvelous time.
I did socialize, I did rest and recuperate. While I was incredibly happy to get to see people again, it was a bittersweet sort of thing because things have changed quite a bit...

Are all of us going through a self-evaluation or transition period of some sort right now?

I can totally relate on the financial thing. It was too easy to spend money when I was with K. She spent much of her free time the first year we were together planning a big expensive wedding and I spent it always being the one to make up the shortfalls in the joint account and watching my credit card balance get higher and higher. It took me about three years and a big promotion, not to mention us breaking up, to get out of my credit card debt.
bankerboy:
I'm glad I got to see you for a few minutes last night. smile

Yesterday was an undeniable success. I got to panticipate in creating what has become a yearly tradition - ransacking local thrift stores for the creepiest toys imaginable (including, this year, two naked Olsen-twin dolls which became involved in something of a tentacle-porn scene, overseen by a flying Oompa Loompa doll). We crafted these toys into a lovely diorama filled with crackling powder, which is then...

you are correct, mdm. girls are terrifying, if fascinating, creatures. thus I have tons of girl friends and few girlfriends.

I am also enjoying some hydrocodone and a brief lapse in my back pain... wheeeeee. But I don't think my employer appreciates my absence from work. Good thing I don't care...
