Well, after almost a year of living here my mom finally saw my place. Which meant getting up at 6:45 in order to get a move on cleaning my place up. It has been deemed "cute" and "cozy". Which means something along the lines of small but well-used and amusingly decorated. Which is about what I was going for, awesome!
Went to a Brazilian/Lebanese restaurant in SE (La Villa) which was freaking awesome and with great vegetarian food to boot. My mom's partner (J) is half Lebanese, and he deemed it delicious. Mom/J also ended up chatting with the owner and the waiter for at least a good hour about the joys and trials of visiting the various cities in Brazil, since they'd just been to visit with a Brazilian friend last year. Edutainment. And J talked me into eating two pieces of Baklava, despite my being quite full. Oh, twist my arm!!

E had a great story about visiting my cats while I was away - my boy-cat loves to drink from the toilet, which he can do despite my keeping the lid down all the time, as it's a light, plastic lid. Apparently he got a little into it and he arrival startled him such that his back half got seriously dunked, falling in. Awwwh... E & her Husbann were looking all kinds of lovely, having just come from their own personal make-up artist, who got them all glammed up for Hypnogogic's B-day soiree. Surprise, surprise - I crapped out at 11, being still on Central time and having to get up early in the morning today.

Highlights included:
Walking into the KFC - The guy has a "wow" look on his face. He says to me "Oh my word. That's the finest coat I've seen all day." Adorable.
Going to Hillbilly Junction in BFE, MO and getting my Dad a "thumb twiddler".
Mailing myself 3 jars of jam which made it home before I did.
Going to Branson, MO's answer to Vegas. Completely fucking awesome.
Going to Lambert's, Home of the Throwed Rolls. No, I'm not kidding. Throwed.
Anatomically accurate 20' tall reindeer decorations.
Getting stuck in St. Louis an extra night because Denver shut down, and that's where we were supposed to fly through. I lucked out in getting us a flight on another airline, or else I'd still be there now with a very dead cell-phone battery and some very grumpy kitties at home. We were unfortunately too tired to enjoy another trip to the fan-freaking-tastic strip clubs of E St. Louis. Frickin' tragic, that.
Almost getting stuck in Minneapolis, as the storm in Denver made an abrupt swing NE.
