Point at which the difference between Dusty Springfield and Buffalo Springfield becomes entirely irrelevant. They are a part of the glorious whole. And it's taken me no less than 6 attempts to type this in some semblance of ... readableness.

There is now some crazy lizard hassling me about my musical sensibilities. Damn lizards. wink

after reading that, the background pattern for SG really looks like the hotel carpet in Fear and Loathing.

Bleh. I'm still feeling discontented, disconnected and just plain off. I'm not unhappy at all, just ill at ease. Something is not quite right, I want to fix it but Idon't know what it is so all I can do is wait it out. My gut tells me it'll be weeks yet, so I'm disinclined to sit around waiting for resolution. Ah Google... I'm looking...

Mmmm.... maybe something to put your mind in a different frame of reference. A fresh perspective.

Sounds like vacation time. A trip somewhere way out and away from civilization, where you can see all the stars.

Either that or some really strong psychedelics.

Or both. biggrin

What a strange feeling, almost all day, feeling like I was not entirely present in my skin. Woke up feeling off, read something in a post that hit just a little too close to home, which left me feeling way off. Get in the car, turn on the radio, it's the one song that reminds me of a long-lost love. Oof, shitty timing. Okay, suck...

To answer your question, strappleberry = strawberry + apple. Kinda dumb, but it tasted pretty good.

A weekend of discovery. Discovered
* Several entertaining things for use in the shower (no, none of them are water-proof sex toys)
* A "grapple" (it's an apple but it tastes like a grape?)
* Very interesting things that I would not have guessed about some friends of mine
* Things I would not have guessed about how I'm perceived by other people
* That...

i recently discovered that henry of navarre was to marry the daughter of catherine de medici, uniting the catholics and huguenots in france in the 1500s, but there was a massacre in paris on their wedding day initiated by catholics trying to kill off all the important french protestants and drive them from the country.

who knew?

OK, non-sexual bath toys I can picture, but what do you use in the shower? Oh, and yes press is lovely--until your first bad review. wink

I just discovered a family secret, that my mom's side of the family has some jewish ancestry. Guess my grandparents have been keeping it a secret since, well, pretty much forever. Of course living in Germany and Eastern Europe in the 30s and 40s, this was no doubt a pretty good idea at the time. Even to this day my Oma doesn't want to talk about it--my mom found out through some genealogy research she did.

In all the excitement recuperation from the trip to Coachella I apparently forgot to post about my first 7 1/2 minutes of fame. My next brush with fame comes Tuesday night, on the local Fox channel after 24. Update: It was indeed extra-rad. Check it out for yourself, under "Digital Exterminators"!!

Okay, maybe this time I can successful end the grumpy-entry. Feeling much better now, thank you all for your part in that. biggrin

Hooray for so much good music! It's been a serious concert-going sort of season. That makes me exceptionally happy. I suspect at this rate I'll be an official media-junkie myself before too long.

Bunnies are the cutest! There are tons of wild bunnies here in Germany, they live anywhere that has a patch of grass. biggrin

I finally wrote an entirely happy journal myself!

Blister suck ass, I hope you and the mister's feet have since healed.

PDX BBQ is not far away! I'm so glad that so many people seem to be responding to the idea. Can't wait to socialize with everyone and participate in the drunken antics I'm usually only hearing about!

mad I woke up to dreams about people yelling at me this morning, just so I can continue the fabulous fun I was having yesterday.

If you please, tell me a story about sunshine and happiness and fuzzy bunnies and warm cookies, or other pleasant things?

let's see. it was sunny out yesterday. i went to the beach and felt the sand between my toes. i watched a pantsless lil kid chase a dog because he was trying to give him a stick. i didn't see any bunnies though. however, i shaved the back of my head and now it feels soft like a bunny. smile kiss

Borrowing Hippomonki's brilliant idea... here's my summary of this weekend's festivities. Once I'm thoroughly showered and amongst the living again, I'll respond to you all. Thank you all for leaving me so many giggles to come back to! love

Ah yes... so one wears ironic clothes thinking it makes them look cooler, when in fact it makes them look just as dumb as they really are? surreal

Damn, I didn't know you were going to be at Coachella! I was there too!!!! Camped all three days in Lot A, got mild sun stroke and puked my guts out, but never missed a show. Wish I would have ran into you, but I'll be seeing you very soon at the PDX BBQ!

I learned to use cruise control and I drove 90. FAHRVEGNUEGEN!!! eeek
Roadtrip - Done it. Neat. tongue That's enough of that...
Is there anything more disturbing than some dude swinging around in his prop plane, 30' over the freeway?
I love Truck Stops.
There are a lot of really beautiful views on that particular trek. A lot of really fucking boring...

Update: Okay, now I'm going away... off to Coachella, I'll see y'all in a week!

I found myself telling "scarred for life" stories about hearing about my parents' sex lives the other day, but I forgot my favorite story! When I was about 16 or 17,...

Hey! I'm back. smile

Wow, it was probably when the girl who lived next door walked in on me in my underwear one day when I was 10 or 11. I was standing there sharpening a pencil in nothing but a t-shirt and fruit-of-the-looms when she barged through the front door with an empty box that she thought we could use. I immediately leapt over to the couch and pulled an afghan over my lower half, stared at the ceiling and didn't say a word until she finally got the hint and left. Man! That still makes me cringe... lol.

"Area man crushed by ancient, beer-soaked couch."

I suspect yesterday I saw a Darwin Award situation in the making. I was heading out to dinner yesterday and I saw these guys who're being kicked out for having too many loud parties, trying to move a sofa out of their apartment. Now, one might think this...

La te da, I'm awake. whatever
Just a note, for those of you who'd be inclined to do so, 5 in the AM is a really dumb time to remember to pay the rent you were supposed to turn in yesterday.

What's the dumbest thing you have to deal with today? biggrin
