Well, first time out we seem to have come up with a pretty good possibility for a house. Twice the size of the apartment we're in, g-or-geous kitchen, great garden, dark room, but weird little bedrooms, funky basement and weird detached garage. We hear back on Monday.

Tonight begins the apartment-looking in earnest. Hoo boy.
miguelitooooo:

I went for a wee whatever bike ride yesterday to check out the Alberta neighborhood. I'm completely, irretrievably in love. The hippy in me completely adores the possiblity of living next to a co-op and not going 15 steps without seeing someone in a bike helmet.

"Huh, apparently what I'd been told was wrong."

"What's that?"
"Elephants."
"That certainly sounds wrong..."

"Oh! That. Nectarines are a sport of a peach, not a hybrid."

That sounds like it belongs in a conversation between Rosencrantz and Guildenstern...

The pressure to have babies has now moved from my mom to my friends. Sheesh. Just went to hang out with my parents and a good friend whose youngest in a few weeks old. Mom got to indulge her Grandma urges, which was at once a relief and made my skin crawl a bit. ...Stories of their favorite tiny baby parts, and chasing feet inside...

So, what you're saying is you want to have a baby... right?

As a species, we'd be fine (well, in regard to birthing functional offspring) if we just hadn't come out of the trees... all that walking upright crap narrowed our hips (and, subsequently, the birthing canal) to the point where we had to give birth to HIGHLY dependent lampreys.

The clothes bit is Martha Stewart's fault.

There, I managed to finish most of my errands in one day. Now it is time to relax proper-like. And I need lunch companions. So drop me a line if you'd like to get together over lunch some time soon.

So I'm walking down the hall, and I run into some people I know, as I'm getting out of the elevator. Now, the boy I don't know very well, but he says to me "Hey! Happy Birthday!" I think to myself, wow, how the hell does he know it's almost my birthday? Then the girl says "What's the occasion?" Huh? Oh, damn, I still have...

There it is, finished the first draft of my bio. Holy crap. The trick? I put someone else's name in initially so I wouldn't choke every time I got to my name. Worked like a charm. Spit that baby out in 20 minutes, once I figured that out.
hypnogogic:
Good morning.

And you lived to talk about it.....

I haven't had a bike since my fugly-but-wonderful pumpkin-orange Kona ...oh, 10 years ago or so. Here's my new bike in all it's deliciously girly glory.
I think my heart actually skipped a beat when I saw that they have baskets for these things.

P.S. It's remarkable how much you can get accomplished when you're trying to procrastinate! Does any one have...
