so i have to make a confession: my self proclaimed title as newlywed was a few days premature
the wedding was last friday, the 30th. it was super awesome, and everything went great! Tom and i had a wiccan handfasting, walked down the aisle to Era, and my lifelong friend shawn gave me away (cuz my parents wanted nothing to do with the ceremony ... apparantly they were standing somewhere in the back, but left before the ceremony was even done)
my bride's maids were beautiful and wonderfully unconventional! my sister Nina had her hippy dreads, my other sister, Sari, wore a man's suit, and my friend Kat wore bondage boots, a corsetted collar and sported a buzzcut. the other bride's maid, Roya, was quite conventional, actually but just as gorgeous! and of course the bride (moi) was as big as a whale, with my swollen baby belly
our first dance was to the eagles Love Will Keep Us Alive, which was super romantic, i thought, especially since we're both always broke!! lol! at dinner, anytime anyone wanted tom and i to kiss instead of tapping their glasses with silverwear, they had to sing a song with the word love in it. someone sang the clone high theme song, and someone else sang O Canada ("true patriot love ... ") which caught on and the whole dinner hall sang along. it was super funny. Nina was hammered pretty much right after her speech, and stayed that way all night!! but it was awesome, and everyone had a lot of fun!!
