So I went and got some of
in hot pink to make the neckband and side tie of
, which I've made in black. Unfortunately that fantasy naturale stuff is about 2 plys too fat, so I'm splitting it from 1 4-ply strand into 2 2-ply strands. This has got to be the most tedious knitting-related thing I have ever done, and that includes making an entire sweater in K2 P2 ribbing. It helps not at all that I don't have any yarn spools or other suitable implements on which to wind the split yarn, so I have it wound around my pair of size 10.5 needles. It is sloppy and slow, but at least I love the colour of this yarn more and more as I spend more time with it.
After I've finally finished this wrap top thing I think I'll start on a heavily modified version of
in black, orchid, and royal purple.
Trivia: I want a ball winder. Winding balls of yarn by hand inevitably leaves me with balls that are too tight to use and then by the time I've extracted enough of the center the whole thing is in an enormous knot and I have to spend hours untangling it.
Don't you dare make a joke about my balls.

Oh, of course, Independance Day. We do nothing here for St. George's day (England, 23rd April) ; St. Patricks Day gets much more prominence, and that's for the drinking only. Canada Day, Thanksgiving, Independance Day, we need a proper national holiday for people to care about.
