wow, i have been totally put in my place. i did not realize how much of a crappy, shitty, racist, letter i posted was . Honestly i do appoligize hugely!!!!!!!!! i lost a person off my friends list that i think the world of because of it and i am sorry for even putting it there. it was just , honestly , i posted it cause it was pretty close to my feelings at the time. i dont think of myself as a racist, i believe in judging people by who they are and thier actions towards me or others are (and yes i realize that MY actions really make me hate myself right now), and NOT by the color of thier skin.

i have realized something, no matter what i seem to post about my feelings or thoughts, people will not like me, or even...ah fuck it

either you like me or not. i dont care anymore

i am tired that i have gotten comfortable here to post my thoughts and feelings and i am being called a racist. when someone just wants everything to be fair i guess its only a wish.

FreakPirate i respect your comments greatly but yes a turban is a piece of religous dress that dates back a very very long time, but you missed my point in that it was not part of the dress code for the CANADIAN military or the royal CANADIAN mounted police.

as for losing nereid as a friend, that hurts the most. i got to talk to her via emails and such and thought she knew me well. i fucked up. i never should have posted anything. i lost a wonderful person

And you don't seem to understand that it doesn't matter. Canada heralds itself as a tolerant and accepting nation that allows and encourages multiculturalism and freedom from judgement and persecution. As such we make allowances (even in our military and government organizations) to incorporate the various cultures that have come to share our country. If you don't like it you have two options: deal with it or get out.

good point FreakPirate, we are an accepting nation that does allow and encourages multiculturalism and freedome from judgement and persecution, i think that is what makes this country rock! but my question to you and i know it may seem like your hitting your head against a wall is this. why do we here in canada have to change our traditions for others? um an example would be if you moved to i dont know say, england and in your case ((and remember im just throwing something out there, not that its true or anything this is only an example)) your religious belief is that you carry a strung bow with arrows ((i know kinda lame but i just got up and am heading to work)) and you wanted to join the police force there. but the tradtion wait .........heres a better one i think, you come from canada and move to england, now your regligous beliefs ((totally made up here just for this example. i know its weak but please bare with me on this)) is that you have to wear your toque all the time. you decide that you want to join the police force there. you feel its your life goal. the only thing is they dont allow toques to be worn with thier uniforms. do you go and fight in the courts that its your right and religious belief that you should be allowed to wear it regardless of thier tradtions and current rules and regulations? i think they would not allow you into the force there, so why should canada do the same thing?

you are totally and completely right.

matter. Canada heralds itself as a tolerant and accepting nation that allows and encourages multiculturalism and freedom from judgement and persecution

but why at the expense of our tradtions?

and speaking of traditions, i dont think its fair that the canadian government had denyed our natives who are in jail (for whatever crime they have done), the right to do thier tradtional things like have tobacco for ceremonies and such. that is thier tradition and right.

please try to remember that these are only MY thoughts and feelings. i dont know i guess i just cant seem to be able to put them down properly without sounding like a total asshole.
