What if there was a socity that believed that tears were a weakness? What if they believed that it made them physically and spiritually weak? And what if the people of this socity did not cry?
What if they instead converted the emotions that caused them to weep into something else; feelings of pain and saddness turned into physical action. In order for them to deal with larger and more painful sufferings of life, they would convert their emotions in to greater and grander acts. Things that disturbed them emotionally such as the departure of a mate or loss of a family member would require extreme acts. While the loss of status in socity or day to day woes would bring about no more than a small daily tasks to ease the humiliation or worry.
What if the feelings became so overwhelming, and the actions became such a constant, that it all became an addiction?
What if?
