I've decided I like my roommates. The funny and quirky and the only time the house gets boring is when everyone is passed out or at work. There appears to be a bit of trouble with cleanliness but in a house full of guys, what else could you expect. So far I'm pretty sure that I've managed to keep myself in good graces. I haven't cleaned the bathrooms this week, I'm sure I've neglected to bus my own dishes more than once or twice and I left some pudding cups on the coffee table, but somehow I'm not the laziest slob in the house??? I personally don't have a problem with mess. I figure when people walk into the house they know there are four guys living there and they expect a certain amount of filth. Hell they'd probably be disappointed if they walked in and our house was all clean. Our guests would probably freak out and demand that we mess the place up that very instant. They'd say, "I'm not going back in until it looks like four bachelors live there and that's final."
I just finished nine days of vacation. I know what youre asking yourself; "What did he do on his vacation?" Well, it really wasn't much. We threw our Pajama party and the next day I went to Jones creek, which is just east of Tillamook to do some rock diving and bridge jumping. I can't believe that I'd never heard of this place before. It had a couple of great spots to jump from. The water was ice cold but it felt good in comparison to the summer heat. It had been quite some time since I'd been to the river and now I remember why I love it so much. There's nothing like jumping 40ft. off of a perfectly good bridge into the clear cool water.
When I think back, it doesn't make any since to keep climbing up the same hill only to jump of the bridge and then climb right back up the same hill. I think that's what makes it so appealing; there is no since to it at all. It's not about logic or common sense, it about release. It's about that one second in the air. There's a feeling there, it the feeling that you're completely detached from everything. You're not holding on to anything in the world and it's just you. No one else can touch you and you can't touch anyone else. It's freedom in the purest form.
