Friday evening I went to The Barfly in Camden to see some bands. I caught the last part of Grand Rose Band's set and they seemed to pretty good....kind of a standard rock band from what I saw. I'll have to check out their website for samples.
Next up was an LA duo called 8mm It's a husband and wife team, Sean Beaven and his wife Juliette. Sean used to work Nine In Nails before he started 8mm. Their sound is sort of like Portishead....

Last up was Neon. They're an Aussie Power pop band...they put in a good set and got the crowd going....so, not bad for a fiver!
