Friday I went to the The War and Peace Show and almost got heat stroke! 
It's an interesting show where you get to see a lot of vintage (and not so vintage) military equipment...including tanks! You also get to see reenactors...sometimes it's pretty silly but they seem to enjoy themselves.
Sunday I went to the Farnborough Airshow. The highlight for me was seeing the Airbus A380....man that thing is huge!!....although, I have to say that it looks kind of homely...

I envy your six-month sabbatical, but I'm guessing you won't be out of work long.
