It is a dark day in American history. I am too bummed to go into specific detail of what I think. I have some issues with how some of this was handled... but a later date.

All I will say is there is a silver lining...

Bush will now have to answer for his mistakes and take the blame when our country goes to shit. You can't artificially sustain a negative economy for too long. You can't wage huge wars without a draft forever... especially when military enlistment is WAY down.
There will be no chance to scapegoat this on Kerry.

I really believe our nation will, and deserves, to go to shit. 51% of us deserve what they get... too bad they have to drag along the other 49%.

An evangelical court (Scalia will be head), a conservative Senate and Congress, and a President who thinks he is the second coming of Christ on a crusade for God.... now without worry of having to get reelected next term.

Hold on tight.... it will be a bumpy ride kids. Or check yourself at the door.

We are walking slowly along the path of the collapse of this nation. You hit it right on the head with your description. Economically, socially, physically this nation cannot sustain itself at this rate. The only problem is that war (as we are seeing plus more) will be our last ditch effort to maintane power at all costs. This nation's death rattle will be like none heard before. It will shake the planet.

All we can do is struggle against it. We may never stop it, but we can atleast try.
