First, our band needs a NEW BASS PLAYER. If anyone lives near DFW and plays bass (or know someone who does) and want to play in a band, let me know. I have bass gear.

I just got the new Drive-By Trucker's album, The Dirty South. I know what you are thinking... "The Drive-By TRUCKERS?! The dirty SOUTH?! What kind of asinine, inbred, hick bullshit is this? But really... this is some good, SMART stuff. Musically it doesn't quite live up to Decoration Day, their last album (but its close), but the new one more than makes up for it thematically. It's kind of a concpet album... but not cheesy (No "Unoffical guide to the human anatomy" here... no sir) There is this great song about the "Walking Tall" sheriff told from the "villain's" side. And a telling song about stupid, fucking Ronald Reagan. Good stuff.

BUY this album. Support this great American band.

and i do care about the new profile pic. i really do. because this one... it's just... i know you can do better. in fact... i demand for better-ness! [wait... are we on a level yet where i am allowed to be demanding? likely not... but it's always worth a shot. not to say i tend to be demanding. i'm just saying.....]
