Okay kiddies, I need some advice. Where better to than to online strangers?

Scenario one: You choose not to go to work in the mornings because you want to stay up all night and drink Southern Comfort while you watch bad indie movies and pick on your guitar. Is this a sign of alcholism, even if you are employeed on an optional "on call" basis? Is this a cause for alarm, or just a phase, just simple teenage style rebellion?

Scenario Two: You are doing the whole band start up thing, but you're having difficulty because you have asked an old close friend from HS to play the lead guitar lines for you at shows, but after 3 or 4 months of practicing the same 6 or 7 songs, he still plays the damn guitar solos consistently off beat and can't remember whento switch from "thing one" to "thing two", ven thought he has been playing for the better part of a decade. You realize you need him, yet at the same time he is fucking you and is pretty much wasting every one's time (except for maybe his drug dealers). What do you do? (I would list A through D hypotheticals but I'm tired and really can't be bothered... just be creative.)

guitargeek:
I did say it was chickenshit, right?
And I did suggest the side project, right?
It's either that or have a screaming match with the dude until he wants to leave...

Scenario One: I think you are probably OK if you don't do this often, but it might be worth considering whether you feel as though you NEED alcohol...

Scenario Two: I would get rid of the guy, but I have now idea HOW I would do it... Can you blame the other band members? confused

Good luck with everything, and have a happy weekend!
