Anyone out there a published writer? I think its about time I get off my ass and send some of my shit that is just collecting closet dust out to a publisher. Anyone have magazine suggestions... someone who doesnt mind publishing a first time writer?

have you sent stuff out before, to the popular ones? glimmer train. ploughshares. pif. i loved salt hill, but don't know if it's still around. alaska quarterly. tri quarterly. shenandoah. gettysburg. black warrior. you might have to just take a deep breath and submit to the wind. a good bet if you're starting out is to go to the ezines, just to build up a publishing resume, or journals put out by universities that are local to you.
