New Years Eve:
Went to a Winterhawks (Portland minor league hockey team) game. I never expect a hell of a lot but, this was against Seattle, and it was New Years Eve. There are 10k people there which isn't common for a Hawks game.
A friend's tattoo "mentor" had an extra ticket, and I was the lucky recipient. Center ice, behind the bench, 6 rows back. The only thing that would have made me happier was me not being 6'6" and 350 lbs for the three hours of the match because arena seating is built for people not my size.
So, the game. My fucking God...
First period, 2 to 1 Seattle, one minor fight after a really stupid shot attempt by Portland. It was one of the rougher games I've ever seen from the opening minutes to the end.
Second period, the barn gates open and it never stopped. I don't remember many specifics after this point but the highlights are as follows
1: Got to see a guy propose to his wife 3 rows in front of me, and I got a snapshot.
2: Great fight, center ice, one on one, they threw their masks and gloves, and circled each other rather than a impromptu brawl. Fucking great fight
3: Total of 5 fights during the game, all of which were incredibly brutal.
4: The holiest of holy's... 5 on 5 fight. That's right. 5 on 5 fight that went on for a good 5 minutes. Then, it turned into a 6 on 6. That's fucking right. The Portland goalie threw his mask, gloves and stick, and hauled ass across the ice and joined in. That was the single most violent act I've ever seen in my life. There was a fuck load of blood on the ice and it took the announcer 10 minutes to read the penalties off.
5: After the 6 on 6 fight, two more fights break out after that. Mind you this is the 3rd period with like 8 mins left, then a fight at 3 mins, and one more at 1 minute left. It was a brutal game.
6: Portland won 6 to 3, and the last goal scored by Seattle was a gimmie.
I don't know if I ever want to see the live Hockey again because nothing can top that. The Hawks took great shots all night, played stellar defense, and there was a LOT of blood on the ice.

Yeah, pretty much I was going along, and we were friend with benefits, and I was fine with that. But the last time, I guess I sort of felt like maybe he liked me and maybe I liked him.
I might be setting myself up for a world of hurt, but I don't think so, because I got dumped a couple months ago from a relationship that lasted 2 1/2 years. And I've grown so much from just that, I've regained a lot of my old self, lots of new things. And I think, I won't be devestated if this doesn't work out. So I figure, why not go for it? And I think I'm going to do that. Because... what's life without a little pain anyway? But then again, it could turn out happily. But I'm not even looking for a serious relationship. Ha ha. So, why shouldn't I, right?
