I remember when the Exxon Valdez spill happened in Alaska back in the late '80s, and soon after the spill, as Exxon dragged its collective feet, I decided I'd stop buying their gasoline. The images I saw on TV at the time were heartbreaking, and in the years since that spill I've stayed away from buying ExxonMobile products (in addition to the spill, the fact...

I used to eat corn chips by the bagful when I was a kid. One day, I got very sick from eating too much of them. I haven't been able to eat even one corn chip since and can't stand the smell of them, either.

I may be one of the few Knicks fans who actually doesn't want LeBron to come to New York. He's a great player, one of the best in the world, but I'm already beyond tired of all the will-he-won't-he debate. The Knicks are terrible and need help, and there's no doubt he would make a difference. But, I don't see championship in their future, certainly...

I admit I haven't followed it closely, but I have been watching the coverage of Arizona's new immigration law. On the surface, I think it's a flawed attempt to deal with a problem (Megan McCain sees it in a similar fashion), but not living anywhere near there, I can only imagine what many of the citizens of that state must feel. On both...

Etsy is a HUGE online resource for crafters and artisans. If you're ever looking for a unique, handmade gift or piece of art, clothing etc it is an amazing place to look
I sell embroidered clothes for kids and I'm opening a new shop soon for my sewing.

I love the feeling of stumbling across a favorite old movie on TV. Tonight, I watched "Rocky," a movie that I vividly remembered from my formative years, and slipped right back into the story like Stallone putting on one of his boxing gloves. The story, the dialogue, watching Talia Shire blossom in a great performance, the gritty Philadelphia neighborhoods... wow, such a good movie.

There...

Hunt for Red October is my downfall. I've owned every format of it from VHS, upwards. I've tried to watch it w/ every woman I've ever dated and they all fall asleep at the same scene.

On the flip side, I can stop every other guy on the street, adopt Connery accents and remind ourselves that, "Somethings in here don't react well to bullets."

This might sound a little strange, but I sort of enjoy paying bills. I don't like paying more each month than I should, and I don't like paying all bills. But, there's something satisfying about paying bills, especially when you've had the checkered financial past that I have. It's a sense of accomplishment. That's not to say I enjoy paying taxes, although I realize that...

Thanks. I'm really getting out there in the local BDSM community. It's starting to pay off in several ways.

I've fallen behind on my bills. My dad paid my Verizon bill this month because they shut me off. But, I just paid all my bills for the second half of the month, so it does feel good.

They say that if you ever watched how sausage is made you'd probably stop eating it, and frankly when it comes to politics in this country as of late, nothing is more accurate. The process is just ridiculous and is now set up so that virtually nothing gets done. And, I'm just talking about the actual process, not the destructive and disgusting rhetoric that's being...

good to hear from you!
i started this as a way of exploring my relationship with food. I think I eat very mindlessly alot of the time, and I don't pay much attention to what I eat. part of this experiment is that it forces me to think of what I eat, and to think about it.
I haven't had any food cravings so far. meat hasn't really been on my mind.
I'm not so into telling other people what to eat, so I sort of doubt i'd be admitted into the vegan club.
hope life is treating you well smile

So, let me get this straight... 1 senator can stop the entire senate in it's tracks? Huh? Say what? One senator? Whether it's Lieberman or Nelson or Shelby or Bunning, one senator can say no to something and nothing happens.

Some would say that's Democracy in action. I call it cowardice. But, I don't live in Kentucky, and I have a job, so who am...

One of the blessings of my visit with Kathy has been my total lack of keeping up with things tha are going on in the U.S.

Politics used to be a very important part of my life. Now it makes me want to puke. I ask myself why I wasted so much time, energy and passion on it for so long.

Thanks for the info. Part time work would be perfect for me. It would allow me to save while not taking away from the things I want to do on a daily basis. I'll check it out when I get home.

I've lost interest in most sports. I'm still as passionate as ever about my Sox though. It's like a bad habit. I've been a Sox fan since 1955.

I'm in the midst of a 4 week visit with someone I met on FetLife. Between me and you in confidence, the trip has left something to be desired so far, to say the least. It's half over, and I only have slight hope that things will get better during the second half. I'm sticking it out though and keeping my fingers crossed.
wsoxfan:
Thank you, my friend. I'll assess the situation and her demeanor over the next few days and make my decision by midweek.

Yesterday was a good day. She treated me well and we even "played" for a much longer period than either of the two times we played previously. For the first time, I actually enjoyed myself. One thing is obvious. We're very compatible when we're playing. At least that part held up based on our online perceptions of each other.

I have a few days to assess the situation. If things continue to go the way they went yesterday, I'll probably stay. I'm really hoping things have turned around. Maybe the attack I had on Friday night gave her a wake-up call.

If I stay and she keeps her promise, which so far hasn't been the case, we'll be shooting a video toward the end of the week. It will mostly consist of needle play, which she says she's really into. I did a lot of play-piercing when I was with Lyrical, so I know I can handle it and enjoy it.

I know I'm getting ahead of myself. I'll keep everyone updated. As you can see by the comments I've received, I've got some great friends here, including you. Of course, I knew that already.
