I'm curious, can someone explain all this current fascination with vampires? I mean, everywhere you turn there's a new show or movie or book about them. I get the whole goth thing from a fashion standpoint, but beyond that what's the big deal? And why now? The rotten economy has people secretly wishing they were undead? Someone help a brother out and explain it to me. Thanks.

And while you're at it, please explain why the Sci-Fi Channel is now called SyFy? What was the point of that? I don't even get the channel anymore (I dumped most of my cable years ago), but why are they trying to disguise what they are?

I just finished using the bit torrent program Vuze to download a TV show I've always wanted to watch, and at first I feltl so guilty about it. Seriously, I felt kind of rotten. I've downloaded little clips of stuff from Youtube or Daily Motion before and didn't feel bad about it, but this... I just felt bad. It's all 13 episodes of the first season and it took what seemed like forever, roughly about 28 hours to download. Maybe that's the problem; when it was little clips that take a few minutes, I didn't have time to feel remorseful about it.

But now... I gotta tell you, those feelings of guilt have washed away! And all it took was watching the first episode. Came out great. Now, I want to download the second season! I wish I had a faster internet connection, and a faster computer for that matter.

Ah, technology.
