Wow, so Imus got canned. I didn't necessarily think he deserved it, but I understand it and don't have a problem with the firing because I also thought his words -- and those of his unpenalized cohorts in the studio -- were dead wrong and hateful. I sort of look at Imus like a hitman: kills lots of people for years (offends lots of people for years) but goes to jail for a murder he didn't commit (gets canned for something when he's said worse).
