Hey all,
So here's the scoop, on Friday night me and Jon went to see Jenny Lewis, Jon's childhood crush from The Wizard, and ex Rilo Kiley lead singer, play solo well, with the Watson twins, at the Bluebird. Parking was a bitch but it was a good show. Although I felt really out of place (like usual) since there was no one who wasn't emo (like way way emo) and over the age of 18. Sometimes I wish I could be like them, their hot trendy and carefree. And then I hear one talk exactly like this "So my birthday party is tomorrow its gunna be totally cool, totally you better be there, oh no him? We just get high together sometimes, yea it's awesome, so I'll see you tomorrow? Hehehe ok awesome! Bye!"
It's weird cause looking around, even though their all trying so hard to be "different" everyone could have been twins. Short black/bleach blond hair, brightly colored layer over layer of clothing, 50's looking skirts, "emo" glasses, band sweaters, you know the deal.
I don't know if I'm sad, kinda jealous, or disgusted. So confusing. Every "group" or subculture eventually turns into something mainstream and ordinary and the "cool" thing to be/do. Totally looses it's essence to the point where I feel sorry for the originals who started the whole thing.
Anyway, Sunday the 19th is Eagles of Death Metal, I'm psyched they're opening for The Strokes, so it's gunna be the same shit but we're going for EODM they rock. I must be up at the very front. I found out today though that Josh (from QOTSA) doesnt tour with them most of the time, and since he's my #1 I'm very disappointed I won't get to see him.
Then! Eisley of course, in April.
That's my concert lowdown, other than that I have a shit load of stuff to read/study/do by the end of spring break, and my computer is fucked up from Norton installing/uninstalling problems and I can get to like 3 websites, thank god this is one of them. Hopefully Jon's gunna fix it for me tomorrow, and by fix it, I mean basically undo everything I've done to it and set it up like it was when I bought it. I better get to backing up files.
Sorry my updates always end up way longer than I expect them to when I start.
