Meanwhile, some funds for wedding are making themselves available, though getting number from my mother is like pulling teeth. I'm not sre how it all is going to happen, but I think it will ultimately be lovely and fun. That is, assuming my future mother in law doesn't drive me mad with misguided attempts to overload me with wedding advice.

that's what mother in laws do, i think it's part of the job description. close your eyes, grit your teeth and when the day arrives, party your ass off no matter what happens so that becomes your memory of it all!!
