I determined a few days ago that I am pretty.

Alright, that might sound strange to a few of you. Here's the thing: I knew I COULD look good/ I knew that.

I was also surprised whenever anyone found me particularly attractive and appealing.
Sure I knew I was smart (I'm not even as sharp as I used to be neither). And I am a good flirt. And a caring person, a good listener and all that stuff. Occasionally funny. Considered talented.

But I was never a catch. I always thought I had a great body, but a plain face. An ex-girlfriend told me that and it stuck, as I already thought it true.

For the last week and a half I've gotten into the habit of wearing a little makeup everyday. Just eyeliner and some easy to apply creme shadow. Eyeliner is, I think, the key to my face.

Two days ago I looked at myself in the mirror before going to pick up my man from his show. I was just walking by, but caught a glimpse of my face and thought:

I'm pretty.

It's a word I don't particularly like, but it was the right word. And I didn't mean "I'm pretty NOW."

I almost cried.
It's really something to feel something like that is true without someone telling it to you.
Of course, it helps that I believe my man when he sayd it, but now I believe it better.

I might just be a great catch. smile
Not perfect of course, but who is?

I wish you an evening like the one I had. The implications are fabulous.

Love to you...

No matter who you are or what you look like, some people will think you're pretty and some won't. For example, the blonde, tan, California type of woman that's supposed to be the standard of beauty doesn't do much for me. Your "plain face", on the other hand.... love

I think the important thing is you're happy with how you look.
