Tim, my boyfriend's best friend (of over ten years) got married this past Saturday. My hubby was the best man. He looked terrific.

It was a really nice wedding. I got to meet the rest of the gang, which was just wonderful (if nerve-wracking). Drinking, dancing, laughing, all the good stuff. I'm starting to love my boyfriend's pals (if not their dates), and so far they are pretty fond of me too. The common concurrence that "we're next" (to the point of people practically threatening my boyfriend if he doesn't do it soon) didn't bother me in the slightest.

Perhaps that's just cause it all hit me a little harder. The simple act of getting married gained a deeper sense of meaning than it had (not different, just more). This shift started even before I talked with my emotional man.

My man was very deeply affected by his best bud taking the plunge. I realized how much marriage actually means to him in how he expressed what it will mean for his friendship with Tim. It wasn't about the two of them seeing each other less (that won't happen). It's in the shift of priorities, given away by subtle shifts of language.

It can be huge. It shows in time. For now little is different, but he's looking further.

He's also planning. Everything is changing, ever so slow.

Good luck. The changes are good though.

You won't have to worry about losing me, I have a hunch on that.
