An admission:
I've never truly been part of an online community before. Yes, I have/had a livejournal, yes I have a myspace account. I don't think that really counts in my case, since I only converse with people that I already know off-line. I have never had a relationship (friendship or any other kind) that started in the digital world.
So SG has been real different for me. I took to the groups like a snake to mice and gathered some SG pals who I am really fond of. I'm still quite new at this (obviously), so I am quite glad about the sort of wonderful members who have been willing to put me on their friend's list, NOT TO MENTION those who don't even know I live vicariously through their blogs, OR ESPECIALLY those who read what I'm up to and comment here. There aren't too many, and that's just fine with me. And then you get an SG pal like witchartist who has been making me a gift for my birthday!!! Geez, who are these people?
I genuinely care about some individuals I've never met.
Thank you.
Ok, done been sappy now.

"There is no woman's sides
Can bide the beating of so strong a passion
As love doth give my heart; no woman's heart
So big, to hold so much; they lack retention
Alas, their love may be call'd appetite,
No motion of the liver, but the palate,
That suffer surfeit, cloyment and revolt;
But mine is all as hungry as the sea,
And can digest as much: make no compare
Between that love a woman can bear me
And that I owe Olivia."
Which is Orsino's speech from Twelfth Night (my favourite Shakespeare play!) and while it actually talks about how weak women are and how men can love like crazy, the "but mine is all as hungry as the sea" sort of summarises that love is not a limited quantity.
Um, well, it wasn't all that relevant, I just wanted to look smart by quoting Shakespeare, and your comment reminded me of that one line. Well, anyway, enough rubbish from me for now
Hey did you change your name?
