So labor day weekend is coming up. All im asking is for people to have fun and be safe. I mean this from the bottom of my heart. Be safe and seriously dont let anyone drink and drive, if you think this is lame or what not then stop reading and go suffer your consequences just know you wont be missed. As some of you may have already heard on the news on Monday night 08/27/2007 an AMR ambulance in the palm springs area was driving lights and sirens to a 911 call. Only minutes into the call where they struck by a drunk driver who swerved head on into the ambulance giving the EMT driver no time to react. The impact speed of the vehicle hitting the ambulance was approximately 70+mph. There are no words to describe what we saw when my partner and i pulled up to find our friends/co-workers/family trapped inside the ambulance which had rolled and landed on its side. the two front passengers of the vehicle were killed instantly and got what they risked by drinking and driving. the back passenger was thrown out of the vehicle and another was trapped in the vehicle. those bastards who made the choice to drink and go for a joy ride killed themselves, injured two innocent people, possibly ruined their careers, brought heartache and stress to many families including their own and those who knew the victims. Like i said, words cannot describe what i saw that night. i have no remorse for the guys who crashed into our ambulance. The paramedic was luckily released that same night with minor injuries, the emt is still in the hospital with multiple injuries. Hes in good sprits though. You may think its fun and you never think it will happen to you. But it will. Dont Drink and Drive and if you see someone who is going to, dont let them do it unless your ready to risk not seeing them again!
