i'm torn...
without getting into all of it here, it's true, i can never be happy where i am. i am always leaving behind someone important...

lets do a pro/con of chicago vs. tucson...this should be interesting & therapeutic.

chi-town:
cons. weather fucking sucks. people suck alot. commute & traffic. materialism & trophy house seekers. stupid brats that have everything handed to them...high price of living $$$.
pros: hmm. culture & art. alot of my friends live nearby.

tuck-son:
cons: not a big city.
pros: people here are so nice. weather is sweet. good arty community. close to big cities. affordable. good place to start a family and all of that crap..someday, maybe.

well...i guess that i will have to think about this more. seeing it all written out like this helps...i still have a year to decide

The Chicago weather CANNOT be worse than it is here in Minnesota. but. you're not thinking about moving here. And I actually found the people in Chicago nicer than they are here in the twin cities!

Anyway, the weather in Tucson is probably too warm for me, but you seem to have more pros under it than you do for Chicago. I guess you have to ask yourself how much your friends in Chicago mean to you. That seems, to me, to be the major deciding factor. Otherwise it looks like you have a good thing going in Tucson.
