A letter plopped through my door the other day. I've not been in a great hurry to open my mail lately due to COVID, but I noticed this one had NHS stamped on it so I figured it was important. I gingerly picked it up and it was thick and I could tell there were leaflets inside it. I opened it with great curiosity and it was from my GP inviting my to make an appointment for a smear test as it is five years since my last one. It is very strange that they always *invite* you to make an appointment, such odd wording. Anyway, it made me realise that if I go for a smear test my doctor will be the only person will be the only person who has seen my vagina in 2020. And the only person for five years to shove a speculum inside me and tell me I have a lovely pink cervix.
