the last half hour of work yesterday:
a boy calls, and i start to realize that he's just fucking with me. so he says he hopes i die. calls back right after i hang up on him. my co-worker answers, and he says some more shit. these calls go on for 10-15 minutes; him calling back right after the phone is hung up. inbetween his calls, a girl keeps calling and asking where we are located. he had started making death threats, but we just kept laughing at what an idiot this guy was since he didn't have the balls to actually come on down.
right at the end of my shift, two firetrucks pull up right in front of my work. why? because psycho boy and girl called and said there was a fire. the firemen were really nice, but i felt bad that they came out there for nothing. we told them about the calls, and they left.
i clock out of work, and as soon as i do, i realize that there's a pizza man with like 4 pizzas for us that we didn't order. right after that, an ambulance pulls up. and right after the ambulance is a squad car. great.
so while all of this is going on, the guy calls back. i put one of the ambulance people on the phone. the guy starts bitching out the ambulance person.
they said that they couldn't trace the calls, but the pizza man does have a message from the girl, and a # that they gave him. but to order a pizza for us, they would have to know who would be in the area to deliver to us.
so at this point, i don't want to leave my co-worker there by herself for the last hour, so i stay until her boyfriend gets there to take her home since she doesn't have a car. but in the meantime, the guy keeps calling back. and it's stupid, because we have to answer the fucking phone. he tells me that i'm going to lose my job over this. right, like i'm going to lose my job becasue he's a bored asshole. he couldn't tell the difference between me and my co-worker, so i'm going to guess that he's not very smart.
i made prank calls when i was 12, but this is so fucking ridiculous! and so i ask, with all the other stupid shit i have to put up with working in retail, why in all hell do i have to put up with this?!
