GEARFEST...
hmmm...
Well, I rolled down to Austin w/ Captain Withit and had an all around swell time goofing off with him - but overall, Gearfest was pretty lackluster. Highlights were Sugar Shack, the Baseball Furies, an insanely drunken Deadites set, the Immortal Lee County Killers, the Total Sound Group Direct Action Committee (fucking INSANE!), and the New Bomb Turks (although the singer's schtick was kinda lame, he sounded really good & the band was tite - yo!). There was definitely a shortage of great bands, but was cool to see all the austin kids & out of town pals and we managed to get really loaded and have a "rockin' good time" (the $20 cover BLEW though!). We were pretty fuckin' beat down come sunday night though...
Tonight is blacklight bowling and I'm gonna try to dial in a new bowling style - coz "the lob" doesn't seem to be getting any better.
